Week 8 - Rain Town - Day 50 of 112

Rain stopped play
Heard the rain this morning turned over, reset the alarm and went back to sleep. This and a combination of getting to bed too late last night and very sore legs made this mornings abort a no brainer. This is the first time that I can remember in this marathon cycle having such a deadness in my legs. Jings they are sore! May decide to sit on the bike this evening rather than tackle the usual Monday easy 5 miler. Let's see how I am feeling after work.

It's just before 6pm and I am sitting here at work contemplating a wet cycle home. Really not in the mood to strap on the trainers this evening. I think that I will just sit on the bike and spin for 40 minutes to give my legs a rest for what looks like a daunting week of training. A lung buster of 5X1 mile at 6 min pace tomorrow morning with a likely 5.15am start 13 miler on Wednesday finishing with  another 18 miler on Sunday which has me running at marathon pace over the last 9 miles. That will be a good gauge as to how I am progressing.

Decided no to go out tonight and sat on the bike for 40 minutes spinning at around 90rpm. This gives my legs and more importantly my achilles another day to recover. It also keeps my hand in as far as my triathlon training is concerned. With this in mind I really must get back to the pool this week and see how my swimming is going. I have not been in the pool for about a month. From past experience I will be doing well not to drown when I get a chance to go on Friday.

Numbers - 40 mins - 118 avg HR - 88rpm
