"Ding" I have gone all spiritual having listened to a pod cast on Zen. I originally subscribed to a podcast called Zen and the Art of Triathlon http://www.zentriathlon.com/ which is really about training for triathlons but has a small section on Zen and how it can assist in training. I know that it sounds odd but some of the stuff is applicable. It got me interested in exploring it further and I have stumbled across a plethora of podcasts on the topic. So I will be off shortly to ring my bell and start my sutras.

I don't think that Zen can help with my fatigue. Really looking forward to Friday and a day off to recharge the batteries before the weekend and a 15 miler on Saturday at 7.30 pace. The legs are still heavy and the cycle in this morning was unusually tiring. Hopefully a day off will be enough to give me some energy for Sunday. Have started on the eggs in the morning to see if the added protein aids in the recovery process.
Back to the canal this morning. Forgot to charge the Garmin overnight and ended up running without it which was quite enjoyable what with not having all sorts of beeps and flashes demanding that I need to run faster. It was an easy run at 8 min pace and covered it in around 32 minutes. Had to try and remember where the 4 mile turnaround was from previous runs. Into the wind on the way out so that was the reason why I thought that it was tougher than it should have been. Passed the Ice Maiden on the way out. Needless to say no response from her. Achilles was painful and felt a sharp pain a couple of times on the run but ran it off - exercises? All in all a pleasant outing. "Ding!"
