Week 4 - No sound on the ground - Day 25 of 112

It's been a long day. Clocked off work to get to a 2 hour seminar that started at 6pm and managed out the door at 9.15pm. Smashed it tonight. It was one of those runs tonight that made you understand why running is so enjoyable. Cold clear still night. Felt that I was flying but with little effort. Fantastic.

Ran without any podcasts tonight which is unusual. I didn't actually realise that I did not have anything on until I reached the park. Listening to my cadence and trying to ensure that I make as little noise as possible when turning over my legs is a great exercise to see how your form is. The less noise means a fluid stride and good form. Easy at the start of the run but more difficult as the miles clock up. Still astonished at how a couple of hours more rest makes a real difference to your performance the following day. Ran out for my 9 miler on Wednesday morning and felt dreadful following the evening session on Tuesday, Roll on Thursday and this evening's steady run at 7.30 minute pace having had an extra 10 hours recovery was a breeze. Felt as good as I have done so far. Clocked  7.30 - 7.12 - 7.09 - 7.17 - 7.26 - 7.12.

Although the run was great the conditions were far from ideal. It was bloody cold tonight and there was a fair amount of ice on the paths. Indeed the path through the park and onto the canal were so bad in places that it was difficult to keep control. I decided to cut my losses and run back along Great Western Road.

Read 'em and weep - 6 miles - 43.47 mins - 7.17 pace - 157 avg HR - cadence 83.1 rpm
