My Infinit Nutrition powder came through the post today. It looks as if they have sent me more than I ordered. I should phone them up and make sure that they know this as they have only charged me for one lot. Having said that they probably know as they do like to throw in freebies to keep their customers. I have ordered a Recovery powder and a Fuel powder. One I can use on my long runs/cycles to keep giving me energy without having constantly to rely upon gels. The Recovery Powder is full of Whey Protein which will allow my muscles to recover quicker. I have never used the protein powder and am interested to see if it works. Nowadays all the majors sports used protein recovery drinks of some sort so one assumes that they must have some benefit. The great thing is that you can dial in what your preferences are as far as ingredients are concerned. Infinit Nutrition
Wet and windy on the run on Tuesday evening down at the cricket club after the U13 training. It was horrible. Driving rain and running on a surface more akin to a rugby field. Several times on the laps I lost my footing. Layered up and looking like the Michelin man as walked through the clubhouse going to the field and I must have looked a sight to the Zumba class that was going on. Having said that there were a few sights doing that - Bingo Wings and Muffin Tops to the fore!

| Mud! Mud! Glorious Mud! There's nothing ....... |
The effort on the run felt like a 3.5/4 out of 5. Felt it towards the end of the 16 400m reps but managed to keep nearly all of the laps within the allotted 90 seconds. There is a slight hill at the ground and it was easier running up the hill on the first half of the run rather than at the end of the lap. 200m jog in between the laps meant that I was running alternately up the hill at the start then up the hill at the end. Achilles gave me some bother and by the last lap I could not really push the pace and finished with the slowest lap. It was sore on the 1 mile cool down. Cool down - that's a laugh. By the time I was finished I was cold, wet and miserable. The cycle home was horrible. Every pedal stroke sent a chill through my body. Cycling into the rain gritting by teeth, trying to shield from the rain. It reminded me of Tuesday night rugby training in the middle of Janaury at Accies back in the day. No fun! Good feed of lasagna hot shower and off to bed.
I had a look at the last time that I did 400m repeats and I have to take you back to week 5 where it says that I hit the targets but my max HR was 153. Looked at the Garmin and see that the max HR was only 149. Signs that I am certainly fitter than I was 5 weeks ago. This is a blessed relief. Can you imagine my reaction if I had not improved. The toys would be out of the pram.
