| New bike needed? |
Should have got out of my scratcher this morning to get down to the swimming pool put just could not face it. Thought that I would be able to get down after work but that was not possible as I ended up leaving work at 9.15pm. At least I have work to keep me from worrying about eh injury. I just do not have time to do anything else at the moment. in fact if I was not injured I think that I would be struggling to fit in the training.
Left leg feels sore this morning on the left handside of the hamstring. I am wondering if it was the tight bandage that has maybe inflamed the muscle. Unlikely I know but my mindset is such that I am trying to find any positive to keep at bay the depressing thought that my London Marathon is slowly going down toilet. This sore left leg does not respond to ice the way that the hamstring does. It seems deeper into the leg which is concerning. I keep looking for signs of bruising but nothing has come up yet. This is either a good sign that there is no bruising or a bad sign in that the bruising is so severe that it has not appeared yet. I have a couple of ice burns though. The leg is not when I walk but when I flex the leg leg it is sore at the hamstring. I do feel it when I go upstairs. When I do stretches the hamstring is not sore but is quite difficult to do a stretch on the left handside of the hamstring.
Just as my body starts to creek and groan, my bike has also given up the ghost. The irony is not lost on me. the chain keeps slipping which is really annoying when I start of at the lights and try to get ahead of traffic wanting to turn left. I also now have to avoid hills as the chain simple falls off the bike the moment I but a concerted amount of pressure on the pedals.
Need to speak to Achilles Heel about the hamstring at the weekend. Jen's voucher will come in handy. They can tell me what is really wrong and give me a better idea of what I can expect as far as recovery is concerned. I am pretty low at the moment. Cannot help but think that all the 10 weeks may have been for nothing. It is hard to take as I sit here typing knowing that the 3 hour barrier may be up and just getting round uninjured maybe all that I can hope for.
