4 weeks to go and to say that I am worried is an understatement. Come tomorrow I will have been off running for two weeks and the longest run that I have racked up is a massive 3 miles. I have sent an e mail to Marathon Talk podcast to see if they can give me any advice as to how I should approach the last 4 weeks training having been out of action for the best part of 3 weeks. I may need to start trawling the Runners World website to garner some information. Unlikely that I can jump back into full on training after the injury.

To bed late so did not make it up. Had thought about going for a swim but glad I did not as the Baths are closed for their annual maintenance week. I could have got out of my bed, cycled down only to turn back round again. Bonus! The maintenance week means that members can use the Arlington Baths so popped in there on my way back home from work. The membership is on the old side. I think that I was one of the few swimming who were under 70. I couldn't find the toilet and had to ask this octogenarian who told me 5 times where the toilet is. I didn't have the heart to say to him that he had told me 5 times as I stood there like a nodding Churchill. It is a strange place. It has been on the go for years and is definately an old Victorian Bath house. It's no David Lloyd. In fact the toilet was in a cupboard with no light and no wash hand basin. Some think this is character others sling their hook and join Greens. For me I like the quirkiness of the place. Not as clinical and lacking in character as most gyms.
The pool is a rather odd 21 metres and I ploughed up and down for the best part of 30 minutes. Managed 72 lengths at 1512 metres. Worked on the head position and the superman pull today? Needed to keep the concentration up . Pushed the last 6 lengths. Did not feel too tired at the end. Because the pool is small It bacame quite choppy . The water was colder than the Western and not as chlorinated.
Numbers - 1512m - 31 mins - 72 lengths
