Week 13 - It's always the same - Day 88 of 112

One of the crazies!
Every time that I have ever gone on holiday there is this massive panic to get all of your work up to date so that by the time that you are ready for your holiday all you want to do is curl up in a dark room and do nothing other than sleep fr two weeks. Since the economic downturn going on holiday has been a pleasant experience as it has not been as busy at work so not so much stress in leaving on holiday. Things have certainly changed at the beginning of this year and as I type this I am still at work at 10.30pm. It looks like another long one tomorrow so getting down to Machrihanish before Sunday is looking a slim prospect. And do not get me started on the catch up after I come back.....

I came back in to work after a feed and on the way back in popped into the Arlington which is growing on me. The staff seem to be more willing to engage with you. There does not seem to be much management about so I wonder if it is for this reason that they appear to be far more relaxed. Forgot to take my goggles and managed to cage a pair which remarkably did not leak. Another good work out of around 1440m. Head position was good and again did not feel tired at all after it. I was actually looking forward to the swim. The chlorine or lack of it makes for a much more enjoyable swim. A visit to the Arlington would not be the same without some encounter with one of their crazies. This time it was a woman of an indeterminate age who clearly had been caught in a Vandergraf machine or had not experienced the wonders of conditioner. She was as mad as a bag of frogs.

Tonight the idea was to leave the bike at the Arlington and jog the rest of the way into work. A massive 0.45 miles but I am pleased to advise that this went off without mishap. It feels strange running again and I am acutely aware of my gait and my left leg especially. I guess that it will take a few weeks to gain the confidence that the leg is not going to explode again.

The numbers -
Swim - 1440m - 30 mins -
Run - 0.45m - 3.55mins - 8.47 pace - 59 calories - 127 avgHR
