Week 13 - Back for a swim - Day 87 of 112

Anyone for a Turkish?
Back to the Arlington after work. I got a little lost in the bowels of the place and ended up walking through the Turkish Suite. It was like walking in to death's waiting room. There was not one under the age of 70 all muttering away. A very strange experience. I then had to follow this rather rotund sweaty elderly gentleman out of the room. Not a pleasant sight. I was in a rush as I had to pick up Amy from the second night of "Treasure Island" but the old boy just wouldn't let me get through as he ambled to the changing rooms. The place is awash with old farts!

The positive was the swim. I really feel that I am now up to speed on the swimming front. I swam for a good 20 minutes non stop. It was one of those swims that you dream of - bags of energy, great feel for the water and good technique. Difficult to know how fast I was going but I felt that I could have kept going for ages. The swim on Monday was  enjoyable but there was a soreness in the hamstring when I pushed off from the wall. I did not feel this tonight. The only downside was this women who ended up swimming in my line when the rest of the pool was free. I am sure that there is a swimming etiquette which says that you just should not do that. I had been swimming for about 10 minutes using one of the lines in the pool as a guide. Up and down, up and down on the line. She comes in doing her breast stroke swimming and start going up and down my line. What a nonsense!

Need to start to think what I am going to do as far as running this week. Work is just crazy at the moment and I can see a long day tomorrow with it being the end of the month. Had a thought today that it surprises me sometimes how I managed to fit in all the training in the first 11 weeks. Maybe go for a swim after work and then try a run around the block to see how the leg is shaping up. Surely it will have sorted itself out by now?
