A designated rest day today so down to the Western Baths for another 1200 yards - no cockroaches this morning thankfully. The rest is needed after what has been a tough week. I think of all the days Tuesday was the toughest with the speed set drills. Really pushing yourself at that time in the morning is difficult and I wonder if I can really give it my absolute all without any breakfast. May need to look at that being done in the evenings.

Sleep is something that I will need to keep an eye on. A lack of sleep is going to affect performance and undoubtedly lead to injury. The problem is that there are not enough hours in the day to get everything in and any downtime tends to come at the end of the day which can be after Jackie Bird tells us about the latest witerings of our glorious leaders Team Fish. Trying to aim for 7+ in the coming weeks.
The achilles is bearing up. Seems to be worse with the new shoes. It does calm down most of the time once I find my stride after a mile or so. There is definitely some roughness at the achilles so there is an issue there. It is just a matter of managing the problem which includes doing those blasted exercises. They are such a drag.
