Week 5 - Chest or Head - Day 32 of 112

My melon

Woke this morning to find that overnight my melon had reduced to its normal size and I did not feel as congested. In fact I felt that I had turned a corner and moved to the next stage in the cold cycle - that stage where your nose stops constantly running but when you do need to blow your noise what looks like radioactive yellow gunk comes out in even greater industrial quantities than the previous watery stuff. This I know from experience means that I am approaching the end game. What I need to watch out for now are any signs that the cold has travelled from my head to my chest and that the gunk is now sitting on my chest. Common wisdom suggests that it is ok to run with a head cold but it is an absolute no no to run if the cold is in your chest. This has serious health repercussions and can lead to irreparable damage. Yikes! I think therefore that I will bring forward my day of rest from Friday and see how I feel tomorrow morning. I can always do my allocated threshold run on Friday or Saturday depending how I am feeling. It will also give some more time for my achilles to recover.
