Week 5 - Oh I do like to be beside the seaside - Day 34 of 112

You're going the wrong way!
Back down to Machrihanish on Friday night and awoke to a blustery Saturday morning  and green gloop coming from deep in my chest. Not a good sign. This cold is taking a little bit longer than I would like to clear up. Unlikey to do the 18 miler if this keeps up. On the positive I managed to get everything finished for the guests coming on Saturday and get a couple of hours at the golf club to watch the rugby. How did Scotland manage not to win. It was surely easier to win than lose. Once again we have found another way of failing to convert our chances.

Did manage to get out for a run on the beach. There was a break in the weather for about 20 minutes so I got the gear on, wrapped up with two sets of gloves and headed out. Achilles was stiff and took a while to loosen off. Not sure that the soft sand was ideal but the run was just what I needed to blow away the cobwebs. There really isn't much to beat a run on the beach in any weather. Enjoy it every time I do it. Managed to get some great pictures whilst I was out and I have posted these on the blog. Got hit by a hailstone storm as I turned for home. The wind picked up and it was a bit of a battle to get home. As I approached the golf course the storm was at its height and I noticed that there was a guy out on the practice fairways practising his mid irons. In that weather? He must have looked at me as I looked at him and asked the same question. Why????

The pace was not great at a little over 8.30 pace but I felt that given my health best not to push it at the moment.

Numbers - 5.05 miles - 44.44 mins - 8.52 pace - 76.6 avg cadence - 139 HR avg bpm - 687 calories
