Week 14 - Golf - Day 95 of 112

Amy on the 18th
Emma on the 1st
On the beach this morning - not such a good day weather wise. but no wind at made for an enjoyable bimble. The pace was better without the wind buffetting me and the harder sand. I am struggling with a bit of a head cold at the moment so the HR is a bit out of kilter. Felt the run was a bit of a struggle but still within my 2-3 HR zones. Got it to 7.30 min pace at the end of the run and did not feel too uncomfortable. The hamstring was fine. I almost forgot about it whilst on the run today. We are going to Millport for Easter to visit mum on Sunday and may tackle a lap of the island with my brother. The achilles is still sore and the camber of the beach is definately not helping it. Running on the sand is almost certainly strengthrning my hamstring if not my fitness. It is also easy on the joints. This may not be so good as it may be a shock to the system when I return to the roads

I am far more confident about my ability to start the race at the moment. It has been a good week thus far. Friday will make it 4 runs in a row at 7 miles each. There is little doubt that as my focus turns away from my injury, it will be directed on my goal for the race. This is a difficult one at the moment. I guess that i will not know what that could be until I prperly test the leg and fitness with a tempo run. A 3 hour marathon cannot possibly be on. A PB  - is that possible? Can I dip under 3.10? I will need to do say a 7.30 pace for 20 miles and then try and blast the last 6 at 7 min pace for a negative PB split.

We have been out on the golf course with Amy and Emma. The girls are coming on. Before I know it they will be beating their old man!

My fight with Sky is nearing a conclusion. not an amicable one though. they have now conceded that they will get someone who can go onto the roof but not until Monday. So this means a 6 hour round trip on Monday. That's all I and the hamstring need at the moment.

Numbers - 7.14 miles
