Passed a fellow runner on the beach this morning. He was running towards Machrihanish in the opposite direction from me. He was struggling. I was surprised to see him again as we passed on the way back. He was walking and not having a great time. He still managed to say hello so it cannot have been all that bad. decided to run on the soft sand for most of the run to continue my hamstring strengthening and keep off the camber to avoid inflaming the achilles. It was a bit blowy this morning. I picked up two pieces of wood on my way home and was running along with these clacking them together in time to the tunes on the I Pod. I have lost the plot!
The achilles is loupin at the moment. I have failed to keep up with the stretching and the strength exercises and it is my own fault. Need to get back on the exercises and the icing for the next fortnight. Every time I rest the leg is gets stiff and seizes up. Not great. The hamstring was tight and remained tight for the rest of the day. I will need to watch this. I did not put the tubi grip on.
We are heading back home today and I'll be back down on Monday when Sky are to get the dish repaired. A 6 hour trip for their cock up. What a way to spend your Bank Holiday. To round it off I have left all of my running gear down at Machrihanish including my Garmin. I will need to use the Nike + function on the Ipod to keep the distances.
Numbers - 7.14 miles
